The West County Church in Chesterfield, Missouri recently held their seventh annual Health Expo, welcoming nearly 170 attendees, exhibitors and volunteers to the single-day event.
“After seven years of presenting health fairs to our neighbors, this was the highest attended yet,” said Leslie Olin, coordinator of the Health Expo. “We had more exhibitors from the community than we had table space!”
The West County Church has found health-related events are the best way to reach members of their community with the gospel. Using the Natural Health remedies: Air, Water, Exercise, Nutrition, Rest, Sunshine, Temperance & Trust as the core exhibits, this year’s expo also featured glucose blood tests and cholesterol screening from Barnes Jewish Hospital; community health outreach from Missouri Baptist Hospital; hearing specialists from Walgreens; sleep health with St. Luke’s Sleep Medicine; massage and health counseling from Dr. Scott Grivas and Maria Walls, ANP; chiropractic and balance evaluations and more.
The local Monarch fire protection district brought their hook and ladder truck and gave children tours. An inflatable bounce house was set up to entertain and exercise the children who accompanied their parents to the event.
Food samples included a healthy red lentil carrot soup, sunflower seed and oatmeal patty burgers, and a fruity tapioca pudding dessert.
“I’m going straight home to mark the date for next year’s Health Expo on my calendar,” said one delighted attendee.
