Nearly 30 years ago, a small group of people meeting in a room at the St. Louis Central Church decided to plant a Spanish-speaking church in the area. After much prayer, the group of five began meeting in the rented basement of a nearby church.

By the grace of God, the group was eventually able to purchase its first building and become a company (a step in the process of becoming a church) in the Iowa-Missouri Conference. As the years passed, they outgrew their facility and decided to sell it. For two years they rented space from another area church before purchasing their current facility last year at 5872 Maple Ave. in St. Louis.

At the end of 2018, the company was officially organized as a church, with pastors Robert Wagley (conference executive secretary) and Carlos Tamay (conference Hispanic Ministries coordinator) presiding.

It would be difficult to calculate how many people over the years have heard the message of salvation in our church and accepted Christ. Most members are actively involved in the life of the church, and new leadership continually emerges. Many years have passed, but our church remains a witness for God in the city of St. Louis, drawing people to a living faith in Jesus Christ.

The St. Louis Spanish Church is grateful for the many church members and others who have generously donated time and effort to making this possible.
