The St. Louis Central Church exists not only to be a connected, nurturing community of believers, but also to share with our community the good news of the gospel and the soon second coming of Jesus Christ.

Because evangelism is the crux of personal ministries and a top priority for the church, the personal ministries team meets regularly to plan and implement a collaborative, strategic, evangelistic outreach calendar.

In anticipation of this year’s conference evangelism offering on March 30, Pastor Rob Alfalah introduced a novel way to reach our annual goal. In collaboration with the women’s ministries leadership team, a Giving Apple Tree was planted at the front of the church. With four levels of pledges, all members (including children) were encouraged to participate. After pointing out that the apples on this tree are not forbidden and should be freely taken, Pastor Alfalah asked members to come choose their pledges. Nearly 75 percent of our goal was pledged that very day!

Each Sabbath more apples are plucked and replaced with “leaves of promise” in anticipation of reaching our annual conference evangelism offering goal. We are excited to do our part by raising much-needed funds to make evangelistic efforts a reality, not only at St. Louis Central but throughout the Iowa-Missouri Conference.
